WildBlue High-speed Internet Customer Reviews

Stories from the great big WildBlue world!

I’ve been a WildBlue user since Sept. 2005. Since then, it has made working from my rural home much easier compared to the dial-up ISP I was using. WildBlue has performed very well for me for many different tasks, especially on “Patch Tuesdays” when Microsoft releases multiple updates which would take hours to download on dial-up.

On another note, in December of 2007, we were without power for 14 days due to an ice storm that is being called the worst natural disaster in Oklahoma.I would like to give WildBlue credit for working flawlessly throughout the storm and resulting power outage. That is, as long as my generator was running.

There are many people that had their power restored before I did, but they had no internet service at all because a lot of the outside plant for AT&T and Cox cable was completely destroyed or laying on the ground. By having internet access during the disaster, I was able to get a lot of information that other people could not.

I live out in the woods on the side of a small mountain where we only have access to satellite or dial-up. I’m a full-time RN, an online RN-BSN student, and a part-time desktop publisher. As such, I rely heavily on my internet connection for school and my part-time work. I’ve tried using dial-up for both, and it was painful; the slowness of dial-up had a significant negative affect on my productivity at home. I love my WildBlue satellite internet! While I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to people who have access to broadband internet (cable/DSL), it’s a lifesaver for those of us who need something faster than dial-up.

Sincerely,

Lisa in Winchester, VA

More from Doug and Pat…

Thank you to y’all and Wildblue for bringing satellite-speed internet connectivity to my Island home.

I have often said that WildBlue is really good only for those with no alternative, perhaps to y’alls chagrin. Well, we do have some alternatives here, but WildBlue is still the best of them. WildBlue is better than dial-up that we used previously, and better than fixed-microwave, broadband-by-powerline and your satellite competitor.

Our WildBlue connection is our primary communications and entertainment link to the world. Through it we do our banking, shopping, read newspapers, politic, order our movies, maintain our computers and even get directions on how to repair our car.

Yes, we have Plain Old Telephone service but it is too old for DSL connectivity. And we have a cellphone but that works only in just the right places like ‘under’ the tower where we live. The mail comes and goes on the ferry once a day, weather and ice permitting. For daily contact with friends, family and neighbors we turn first to WildBlue.

WildBlue is best for me personally because I can fix a large range of problems that would otherwise be in series with some faceless technician’s other problems. I can maintain my equipment and depend on WildBlue’s user forum or customer service for help with issues beyond my capability.

WildBlue is best for independent folks with no real alternative for high-speed connectivity.

Thank you WildBlue. I do!

Trying to reach the outside world with dial-up just wasn’t working for a rural business on a country road. Now we’re on the information superhighway. It’s like going from a horse to a truck. Read the whole story.  Read the whole story.

At over 11,110 feet in elevation, WildBlue reaches us way out here in Pike National Forest. The installation was smooth and service has been great since day one.

It’s been an unbelievable change. Living out in the country, we could only get dial up Internet service and it would literally take hours to do what now takes minutes. Downloading upgrades, surfing the web and paying bills online is now a joy! Thanks WildBlue!

I never thought we would ever get this great a service out here in the boondocks! A+ on speed, customer service, and installation. You cannot go wrong with this service. It’s head and shoulders above the rest.

I have high speed Internet!!! I live 7 miles out of Parker on 40 acres. Comcast and Century Link both have high speed internet access at the end of my driveway. Both companies would not bring their service up the 1½ miles of my driveway, so I was limited to dial up access. Your service is something that I’ve been waiting for!! The whole installation was very professional, from the phone call to set up the install date, right down to the workmanship. My appointment was scheduled between 10-Noon and Rod was there right before 10 a.m.

I live in rural Texas and if it wasn’t for WildBlue, I’d be stuck with the nightmare called dialup. I love my WildBlue.
