First Steps
Here are the very first things you should do to start enjoying your WildBlue service to the fullest.
Your installer should have walked you through the process of setting up your first WildBlue.net email address. You may also create additional email addresses for members of your household so they have their own email addresses.

WildBlue email accounts are provided through Google’s powerful Gmail tool, giving you a great set of features and access to your e-mail wherever you are. You can even read your email on your smart phone (additional charges from your mobile phone carrier may apply).
You can also access your e-mail using an email program on your computer such as Outlook and Apple Mail via POP3 and IMAP. For more information on setting up your email client, click here for information from WildBlue’s knowledge base.
Make Sure WildBlue Has Your Current Email Address
WildBlue will primarily communicate with you via email, including your monthly bill notifications. It’s important to make sure we have an email address listed in your account that you check regularly. To see what email address we have on file for you and make any changes, please go to update your contact information.
Speed up your Web Surfing with the WildBlue Optimizer
At the time of installation, your installer will run the WildBlue Optimizer on your primary computer. We recommend running the Optimizer on all your computers. The Optimizer is a small program that makes a few important adjustments to your web browser settings to be most compatible with WildBlue’s satellite network. Use Firefox for Even Faster Web Browsing
We also recommend using Firefox as your primary web browser. If you’re not familiar with Firefox, it’s a popular web browser that many of our customers use as an alternative to Internet Explorer. WildBlue has been working with the makers of Firefox to enhance web performance and page load speeds over the WildBlue satellite network.
Our test results have been so successful that WildBlue recommends that you switch to Firefox immediately. It’s easy, it’s free, and it should only take a few minutes to download and install. Did we mention it’s free?
We know that many people may be a little scared of installing a new program downloaded over the Internet, especially to replace a program you’re comfortable with like Internet Explorer. We don’t take this lightly. However, the performance results are so dramatic that we highly recommend you give Firefox a try. You may be startled by how much faster it is.

Routers
Many WildBlue customers enjoy being able to connect multiple computers to the service using a wireless or non-wireless router. Most well-known brands of wireless routers work with the WildBlue service. Please note that WildBlue does not provide sales or customer support for additional equipment such as wireless and non-wireless routers. However, there is usually a good discussion of routers on the WildBlue Customer Forums, if you wish to check there.
