Tier 4 Network Engineer

We are currently seeking a Network Engineer/Administrator to provide Tier 4 support for a 24x7 network environment.� Responsibilities will include:

Interface with the NOC

* Provide support, training, and mentoring of NOC Personnel.
Manage Break/Fix incidents, from the problem determination stage, coordinating and involving multiple vendors, scheduling, and finally assisting with the resolution implementation.
Develop and document standard server operating, deployment, and escalation procedures.
Assist the NOC with problem determination and troubleshooting.
Identify root causes for technical issues and develop Procedural and Technical recommendations for improvement.
Assist with the documentation of standard operating, deployment, and escalation procedures.
Assist with the documentation of SNMP events, Traps, and other notifications generated in the environment.
Assist with the design, development, and training of network tools.

Interface with Engineering

Assist Engineering with new projects and testing.
Manage issues after escalation to engineering, and ensure proper implementation and documentation in the production environment.

General Duties

Assist with ip address allocation and management.
Assist with monitoring and maintenance of the capacity planning system.
Manage router, switch, modem, cache, packet shaper, and terminal server equipment from several different vendors.
Assist with the deployment, maintenance and documenting the Network Performance analysis system.
Carry a cell phone 24x7 and participate in on-call rotation with a 15min. response & 30min. ready to work SLA.
Create Change Control Documentation and procedures for Installation, configuration and implementation of network equipment.
Occasional travel to Gateways for network equipment installation and expansion.
Perform Maintenance during the Midnight to 5:00am maintenance windows.

Candidates must have the following qualifications for the position:

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent in work experience
5+ years experience in Network Administration taking care of routers, switches, load balancers, cache servers, firewalls, traffic shapers, and dhcp servers.
CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIP a plus
3+ years in an ISP or large data center environment
3+ years experience with Network Monitoring software
2+ years in a NOC environment or similar support center role.
Experience with cable modems is a plus.
Experience with Foundry, Juniper, and NetScreen is a plus.
